Sports Nutrition

Teams

SBSN recognizes that nutrition can be the key differentiator between winning and losing. However, we also understand that sports nutrition can often feel overwhelming, confusing, and rooted in rigid rules that can contribute to disordered eating behaviors.

Our team education

  • Simplifies the fundamentals of sports nutrition

  • Focuses on promoting long-term health, well-being, and sustained performance

  • Provides practical goals to create a plan for nutrition around training and game day

Coaches

Coaches and trainers play a vital and influential role in shaping the beliefs, behaviors, and values of their athletes—often with a lasting impact, both intentional and unintentional. While this role can bring immense joy and fulfillment, it can also create uncertainty, particularly in navigating how to support athletes in an era dominated by diet culture.

We offer specialized training for coaches and trainers that

  • Outlines key principles of sports nutrition

  • Provides essential strategies for fostering a weight-neutral, supportive environment for athletes

  • Promotes healthy fueling while reducing the risk of disordered eating, injury, and performance setbacks

  • Highlights important red flags for disordered eating and provide clear steps to take if an athlete shows signs of an eating disorder

  • Empowers coaches to support their athletes with confidence and care

Health at Every Size/Weight Inclusivity Training

  • Appropriate for any medical or mental health practitioner

  • Delve into the core principles of Health at Every Size (HAES), challenging misconceptions surrounding weight and health

  • Discuss the dangers of weight stigma from a holistic lens and gain insights into the importance of embracing HAES principles in patient care in any setting

Workplace Wellness

  • Education centered around a holistic, weight-neutral approach to health

  • Offers employees practical tools to cultivate long-term well-being without the pressure of restrictive diets or weight loss goals

  • Rooted in evidence-based nutrition principles and a focus on mental and emotional health

  • Empowers employees to adopt balanced, sustainable habits that support both personal and professional success

Understanding Eating Disorders

  • A thorough overview of how to recognize, assess, and treat eating disorders in individuals,

  • Outlines evidence-based strategies and trauma informed compassionate care

  • Provide the knowledge and tools needed to identify early warning signs, initiate appropriate interventions, and provide ongoing support for individuals struggling with disordered eating

She prioritizes autonomy and collaboration with her clients as they work together to discover their own version of health. Jessica and her clients work together to slowly unravel their complex belief systems that have disrupted their relationship to food and their body over time.

Jessica has worked with a wide variety of clients to challenge their beliefs around food, movement, and overall health. She is particularly passionate about helping all types of athletes learn how to fuel themselves intuitively-whether that be in the mountains, on the court, or at home. She is committed to upholding a safe, non-judgmental space in sessions for clients to feel supported wherever they are in their individual healing journey.
